Currently on my Google list, I keep a running tally of things to investigate further, is French actress, model, singer and new face of Agent Provocateur, whew, Josephine de La Baume. Despite her many titles, I have to admit, I was unaware of the beauty until I saw her in the February 2011 issue of Bazaar. Her high cheek bones, wide set eyes, defined nose and beaming smile are all qualifying factors of her model cred, and of course she has the rocker beau to boot, Mark Ronson. A Wiki read through gives me a brief rundown of her acting resume, coming up she’ll star in Joy De V, but it was one of the latest posts that caught my eye, that she and the beau I just mentioned are engaged as of “February 2011.” Vogue’s “It Girl” from October 21, 2009, also recorded an album with Nellee Hooper, with the band SinkTank, which I will undoubtedly have to add to my Google search list after this. She describes her personal style as “tomboy by day and pin up by night.” She counts Richard Nicoll, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Peter Dundas for Emilio Pucci as favorite designers in Bazzar, and Rodarte, of course, veteran Vivienne Westwood, and Olivier Theyskens’s show for Nina Ricci as some of her favorite designers. In an interview with Dejour Magazine she also mentioned favoring designers Rick Owens, Yves Saint Laurent, Gareth Pugh, and Ricardo Tischi for Givenchy. Not too shabby. While I don’t share the designer closet that Baume has, I can say that we both share a passion for perfume; she says it’s the last thing she does before leaving the house. WhoWhatWear named her their “Girl of the Month” in November in 2010, and she shows no sign of slowing down her style snowball effect. I love how varied her look is! Baume and Ronson live in the West Village in NYC, when they’re not scooting around London and Paris. Fat chance we’d see her in the Mile High, but I definitely want to check out her films to see if her acting chops are as keen as her styling.
