In the Pink

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and everyone has been seen wearing pink in support; from NFL players and their fluorescent pink cleats, to the 100 fashion bloggers that Ralph Lauren enlisted to sport its Pink Pony polo. I first heard about Ralph Lauren’s Pink Pony Foundation, now in its 10th year, on Stylelist.com. Ralph Lauren has never had a problem reaching the masses, but for the celebration of his Pink Pony Foundation’s 10th Anniversary, he chose 100 influential fashion bloggers to wear, style and photograph themselves wearing the Pink Pony polo on October 1, 2010. Seen above, one of my favorite bloggers, Karla Deras of Karla’s Closet models the polo. You and I may not have been plucked to wear the polo, but you can purchase yours here, or text “PINKPONY” to 501501, which will instantly donate $10 to the Pink Pony Foundation fund. The other day I saw Kim Kardashian blogging about a pair of pink, peep toe booties available on ShoeDazzle.com, only $45, which donates the proceeds of its sales to fight breast cancer. Another hot heel, Hope Shoes by Fergie, a pink, round toed pump, usually $89, will be on sale on QVC.com for $45 on Friday October 15th for the “FFANY Shoes on Sale.” Another great shoe by the collaboration between QVC and Fashion Footwear Association of New York, airing this Friday, October 15th, 2010 from 7-10 pm (ET), is a knee high pair of pale pink riding boots by Nine West, $74.50, half off on Friday, to support the cause. And for a little less, $22, you can support breast cancer research by wearing a pink pout with Shiseido’s luminizing lip gloss in Pop Life, available on Macys.com. What item have you purchased or plan to buy to help find a cure for breast cancer?
