Once again, I will say it, the belly is in for Spring 2010 ladies! In clicking into Alexander Wang’s genious runway Spring 2010 show, found on http://www.nymagazine.com, it was quite apparent that Wang knew just how to drive a point home. Wang is also stressing the importance of comfort and casual wear with an edge in his designs- notice the use of heather gray, sweatshirt material combined with just enough, uber-urban, touches of buttery, brown leather thrown in. The toffee colored shoes with white, knee-high stockings were also prevalent throughout Wang’s runway- a trend I’m still struggling to srum up enough fashion fierceness to strut. Wang’s silhouettes said it all- slouchy pants, cropped topps, and intricate shoulder work- the epitomy of unfussiness and downtown cool that works extremely well with recession concious consumers. Other key pieces in the collection worthy of blog space, yes, they keep track of the picture space I use, is his little, black, quilted leather shorts, and his brown woolen cape with a stiff and curvaceous appearance. I felt these last two pieces, and the sweatshirt dress with billowy sleeves, could translate to Denver culture incredibly well. Of course tights worn under the leather shorts and dresses, possibly even further layered with a pair of those knee socks, is a must for Coloradan cuties as we will most likely be scraping snow off our scooters in March. Here’s just a few of my favorite looks of Alexander Wang’s. For more, visit ww
