Babareeba Jumbalaya

Having once lived in a studio abovewhat is now Max on 32nd and Lowell, I am very familiar with Babareeba, a “Then & Now” boutique a couple doors down.  Jerilyn Berardi is the owner and has had the shop 11 years now; it used to be around the corner on Lowell.  Specializing in recycled fashions, near new, Kelly Elio, the shop manager says they stock looks that are of the moment.  In utter agreement, I captured a couple fave finds from my stop in today.  A grayish-purple, leather bomber with slanted breast pockets, and fringe zippers was the perfect fall layering jacket.  A vintage pill box purse in navy patent leather is the alternative to the clutch for nights out.  And having a thing for long, golden chains, something jumped out at me- a chunky cameo pendant molded out of what looked like yellow resin.  And if you’re looking for that quilted patent leather purse with the chain handle and Chanel is a little out of reach, they had one in purple by Funky Budha for less than $50!  If you’re looking to sell, they buy out right on appointment, but will not take anything older than 2-3 years, excluding vintage, to keep it contemporary and fashion forward.  Other wish list items were a pink, v-neck Diane von Furstenberg sweater with gold metalic trim and a vintage, black, capped sleeve, fur bolero.  You definitely get a mix at Babareeba.
